Obtaining a handicap
How do I obtain my handicap at Birchwood Park?
Member of a previous golf club:
obtain a full handicap playing record from the handicap secretary at
your previous club and request that they send it or bring it yourself
and address it to the handicap secretary at Birchwood Park.
- The handicap
secretary's names are Mike Smith and Anne Woon (Ladies).
- You will be able to play utilising your existing handicap
record and this will then be closely monitored by Mike and Ann.
New member with no handicap:
will need to submit three cards signed by a current playing member of
Birchwood Park and hand these in for the attention of the handicap
secretary. Please mark clearly on each card i.e. '1st card for handicap'
and so on for each round.
- Ideally the best way to
obtain your handicap would be to enter into one of the competitions as
this will guarantee a member marks your card.
- DON'T FORGET TO SIGN YOUR CARD AND MARK IT CLEARLY WITH YOUR NAME AND MEMBERSHIP NUMBER.
This section will deal with all matters relating to handicaps.
Q. Are you visiting another course, going away on a golfing holiday and require a handicap certificate?
A. Then one of the options in this section allows you to request a handicap certificate.
Your request will be sent to the handicap secretary and he will make it available for collection at the golf club.
